Good Post. I think in the future all new homes will be built with a tankless water heater. They not only cost less to operate, but they can be repaired, if needed, and have a much longer useful life than a standard "tanked" water heater. Great Job!

It is very possible to combine luxury and energy conservation. Why not, when technologies on solar energies now a days are increasing. Very practical for homeowners.

People are still doubting about the effeciency of using solar energy. But they could not realized the value of it until they can try it in homes.

Kelly:

Ben Moore has just introduced Natura Zero-VOC paint. We just specified it on a project in Chappaqua. I'll keep you posted on our thoughts.

It's hard to tell from the website if they emit the same sort of glare as the regular solar panels. Good idea, though. Certainly would have been nice if my lovely neighbors had used them.

I certainly agree with you that there are huge tax credits available right now for solar. The threshold for qualifying is 80% exposure, or 20% shading, but this is still a very tough standard particularly in Westchester. Being in the solar industry myself I can tell you that the other significant development in the industry has been the drop in the price of panels. This has had a tremendous effect on overall cost and payback. I don't know the particulars of this installation but $44,915 or $10/w is above present day market levels for a 4k system. Now, even for high output panels you should be looking in the $8+/w range or $35,000.00 for that size system. It is a constantly changing market, and you are right, with the present combination of programs, now is a particularly good time to get in. great blog.
